Whether you live in the United States or you are looking for a great holiday, these amazing cities have something for everyone. Although some of the cities are great residential areas, they can also be great for holidays because they have absolutely everything you would ever need. Here are some of America’s greatest cities…
Raleigh, North Carolina
This wonderful city has a lot going for it, whether you are there to live or you are just visiting. Raleigh is packed with entertainment to suit everyone; it has a variety of museums for history lovers, it has a number of malls for the shopaholics and it has big venues for music lovers. If that wasn’t enough, Raleigh is close to a couple of best universities in the world; Duke University is 20th in the world and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is 57th! Raleigh is a great location to be in, whether you plan on living there or whether you are just visiting.
New York City, New York
Even though this city is a very popular tourist destination, it is also fantastic to live in because of the great job opportunities. Some of the biggest companies in the world have their headquarters in the wonderful city of New York, including Conde Nast Publications (Vogue Owners), HBO, ABC, Footlocker, Macy’s, and so many more! New York is also home to some of the most well-known structures in the world, for example, the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty. New York is a great shopping and sightseeing holiday, it is also a fantastic place to live; just beware of the winter weather!
Denver is a highly populated area in the United States and has everyone you would need in a residential area, including schools, libraries and recreation centres. Denver is also great for tourist purposes; if you are a sports fanatic, then Denver is great because it is home to a number of professional sports teams, including the Colorado Rockies (Baseball) and the Denver Broncos (American Football). Maybe sport isn’t you thing, but there are many more things, including spas, day trips and shopping! There really is something for everyone.
Baltimore is the largest city in Maryland and is another historic city that is the location of the Battle of Baltimore (the War of 1812). Baltimore is home of the Baltimore Orioles Baseball team and the Baltimore Ravens American Football team, so it’s great for sports fans; it is also featured in songs, such as ‘Baltimore’ by Nina Simone in 1978 and ‘For Baltimore’ by All Time Low in 2012. As well as famous musicians, this city also includes a variety of family fun activities, so it is great for tourist reasons.
San Francisco, California
This beautiful city was founded in 1776 by Saint Francis, from Spain. One of the most famous structures in San Francisco is the Golden Gate Bridge, which is featured in many movies. Like the previous cities, San Francisco includes everything you would need in a city and more! It is fantastic for residential purposes as well as tourist purposes; one of the most famous tourist attractions is Fisherman’s Wharf, which contains a shopping center and a wax museum, amongst other things.
The United States contains some of the best cities in the world, but these are only a few that are fantastic for both tourist and residential purposes. Cities, such as New York and San Francisco are very busy due to the amount of tourists, so if you like the busy city life, then these are great for you. If you prefer less people, then a city, like Raleigh would be better.
