Finding Heaven On South East Asia: Best Beaches in Boracay Island

Heaven On South East Asia

Beauty is subjective, shaped by individual standards of perfection. Regardless of the complexity or simplicity of a subject, the human mind often perceives boundless joy and contentment for reasons that may be elusive. This phenomenon resembles Goldilocks discovering the perfect bed and porridge; everything aligns perfectly in time and space with no aspect overlooked. Remarkably, this experience can transform a person’s life—turning darkness into light, cold into warmth, and anger into love. Such is the profound impact of discovering one’s personal paradise on earth.

Among all the destinations I have explored, Boracay Island has captivated me with its alluring and unspoiled beauty. This allure can make it challenging to depart from this island paradise, as visitors find themselves ensnared in a vortex of happiness that feels akin to heaven on earth. A two-day visit is insufficient, especially for first-time travelers; there is an abundance of sights to see, experiences to enjoy, and wonders to appreciate.

For beach enthusiasts who relish watching the sunset reflect off the water during late afternoons, Boracay is an ideal destination. Below is a curated list of the best beaches on Boracay Island based on my personal experience. While there are over ten noteworthy beaches, these five truly captured my admiration. However, be prepared for some difficulty in deciding which beach to visit after reviewing this list—but each one offers a rewarding experience.

Puka Beach

On the northern coast, Yapak, also known as Puka Shell Beach, spans an impressive 800 meters and is renowned for its lustrous white Puka shells, which sparked a jewelry craze in the 1970s and 1980s. This beach is regarded as a must-visit destination for tourists and can be accessed via motorized boats or paraws, which are traditional wind-driven yachts. Visitors can reach the beach by hiking, biking, or taking a tricycle.

Din-iwid Beach

The quaint village of Din-Iwid features a renowned 200-meter beach strip, easily reachable via White Beach. This location serves as a popular picnic and snorkeling destination for adventurous visitors, offering tranquility without complete seclusion. In addition, private resorts have been established on the surrounding hills, alongside cottages and bamboo houses.

Ilig-Iligan Beach

Ilig-iligan Beach is on the northeast side of the island and is renowned for its caves, jungles, and coves, which are home to thousands of fruit bats that can be spotted hanging from the trees. This beach is an excellent destination for swimming, fishing, and snorkeling, and it also serves as a popular picnic spot. Accessing the beach can be done via boat, bike, motorbike, or tricycle; however, caution is advised because of the steep and hazardous downward slope that may vary with weather. Marine life enthusiasts are encouraged to visit during the southwest monsoon season to take advantage of diving trips that venture further into the sea.

Bolabog Beach

Each year, during the first quarter, Bolabog Beach becomes vibrant as reef-protected currents create ideal wave conditions and breezes. This beach is a favored destination for wind and kite surfers and has frequently served as the host for the annual Boracay Funboard Cup. It is now included in the Asian Windsurfing Tour, making it an attractive stop for windsurfing enthusiasts. Visitors can also explore Mount Luho, the island’s highest point, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
